People are always on about how "nice" I am, and my demurrals however vigorous are gainsaid or ignored. Now to shut everyone up once for all, here is some incontrovertible proof: (1) I get what is probably abnormally annoyed when people say to me "don't stress" or "don't worry about it" or, for some reason even more irritating, "don't even worry about it" (- much less...what? Am I running in circles shouting gobbledygook and menacing you with a cleaver?) (2) my annoyance is exponentially increased if the speaker is someone I...how to say...do not believe to have any legitimate claims to superiority / authority / right to stand in judgment of me. I have the right to be concerned, interested, etc. in things, and to express same, and don't appreciate being told, implicitly, that I'm an idiot.
