Dear media, people who aren't Americans are people too

As usual, like 3 words into the Luxor coverage, reporter hastened to add "No Americans were among the dead." Oh really? I guess I can stop listening then.

Great legs; smells delightfully like bubblegum and grass; sparkly lemony and salty on the tongue; & afterward gone in a flash, no muss no fuss. The boy's not bad either. HA! No one should give me this much wine with dinner.

If there's anything better than boys you like jumping up and down and flailing around as you sing, show me it.
The ui of MUSIC in os5 is very frustrating.

Gotta say, Greek cop thing, not oversold.

The wanting is 3/4 of the fun.

O_O I was only looking for "please", but I'll take it.

It's a tiny tiny world. And good thing.

just...STOP IT

Pet peeve: there is only one President of the US at any given time. It is improper (and IMO rude to the actual President) to refer to former presidents as President Lastname, however much one may wish it were still so. (This post was prompted by someone repeatedly reverently flouting this rule for an ex-president of my political party, so it's not personal.)

It's almost never as bad as I think.

1. Maybe I *am*; how would *I* know?

2. My competitive ire is seldom raised but when it is, people had best watch it.

3. Starting the week shakin' it. We're sliding through it swiftly. niftily. Sleep deprivation ftw

Forthright is a thing I appreciate in a person. In a man. Am appreciating. >:)

Well, you never know; I might secretly like getting caught by a butterfly net.

Hahahaha!  of all people, Judd Apatow:
It’s ridiculous that women have to see 8 million male-driven films, and no one ever says, “Will women come to see these five guys hijack a plane?” They just assume they’ll come because they have no other options. This conversation never happens in the reverse.
I have been banging on about this for years...the "every girl is expected to (and does) see The Lion King, but no boy is willing/allowed/taken to see The Little Mermaid" thing. Not that Disney is any paragon of morality or social responsibility, but just as an example.

I liked the movie, especially Wiig's acting and the on-the-whole very natural/realistic/believable exploration of female friendship which is so sadly uncommonly seen (I'M LOOKING AT YOU S&TC).  In my theater there were nearly as many men as women and quite a few there alone or in groups, ie, not "dragged there by women", which was heartening.

You never know what's gonna happen.

Fighting with and/or publicly showing-up or otherwise challenging the authority of your boss, no matter how "right" and "wrong" (you think) you and s/he respectively are, is like stepping in front of an oncoming, red-light-blowing mack truck just cuz you have the right of way. You may be "right", but you also dead. You can't put your need to let your boss (and colleagues) know you're smarter than s/he before plain common sense (and continually condescend to your colleagues) and then be shocked, SHOCKED when your boss doesn't like you and won't promote you. Even in an Enron-level situation needing whistleblowing, there are better ways to handle yourself.

You should be *very* sure of your timing and aim before attempting a flying tackle.

He has an effortless, boundless, unassailable cool, and yet is either unaware of it or sufficiently unimpressed by it so as to be nonetheless totally inviting, approachable and easy (not just fun) to be around, which of course only adds to that coolness. "Addicting" would not be too strong a word to describe experiencing it; you can't believe how great it makes you feel, every time you're around it you want just-a-little-more of it than you get, and when you're not around it you're thinking about it.

Heartless, pitiless, bloodless, soulless. Like looking into the eye of a great white. The skin crawls. The worst part isn't even the realization of the truth; it's the fresh, metastasizing self-doubt that the belatedness of the realization creates.

I want to know the origin of the 'penultimate vowel: short or long?' rule about whether or not to add an "e" before the "s" to pluralize words ending in -o.
