I would like to take advantage of my company's Microsoft Home Use Program to download the Office suite onto my personal ancient cutie pie netbook for cheep. However it requires Windows 7 or 8, and the netbook is running Windows XP Home. I tried to run MSFT's Windows 7 upgrade advisor but kept getting a generic "unexpected error". Then I downloaded MSFT's Windows 8 equivalent but it wouldn't even run, let alone give me an error. Sadface. Am I stuck with OpenOffice? I am irrationally attached to the netbook and don't want to buy a new one. It is an Asus Eee PC 1005A.
