LUSH LIFE is getting better and better -- almost too sensorially vibrant, cinematic, thick with argot, plus believable well-differentiated dialogue and invisibly-executed omniscience. A couple of not even the best moments, just popping to mind right now:
Matty's pov, about Minette: "Does it still just come down to that? Eyes and vibes and freckles across a strongly defined nose? Yes and no, yes and no, but yeah, yes, of course, until the deathbed; it's the visual triggers that kick off the daydreaming."
Eric's pov, preparing to score some coke: "The pavement [in front of the shops was] a natural arena-lounge for the young men toddling in place there now, most sporting sideways baseball caps and billowing white Ts down past their knees. It would be nothing to walk by them...into the pizzeria; it was the coming out with the slice and just standing there like a yuppie piƱata that would be the tricky part."
