New obsession: Freaks & Geeks. I've seen only a few episodes but so far, so well written...nuanced, strong characterization, lol funny, genuine plot surprises...very fine acting...at once satirical and dead earnest, cringe- and aww-inducing, but ultimately affectionate. I also finally understand Jason Segel's supposed appeal...a little. The shaggy Jim Halpert thing, yeah okay whatever.
