Let the record reflect the occurrence on May 24, 2010, of the following unprecedented event: someone I had just met asked where I went to school, I answered, and the person reacted neither with incredulity bordering on insulting (as a quasi- [pseudo-? this person can't stand when other people speak positively to or about me] friend recently did) nor with mockery of the institution or me, but barely at all - just nodded and smiled politely. This had *LITERALLY* *NEVER* happened to me before. I wanted to kiss the person on the mouth in gratitude.
